Hermosa Beach’s Locale 90254 Oktoberfest is Coming!
Saturday, Sept 28 & Sunday, Sept 29, 12 pm - 8 pm
HERMOSA BEACH, CA (September 9, 2024) – Celebrating Oktoberfest in true South Bay style, the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau presents a 2-day family-friendly festival in downtown Hermosa Beach along Hermosa Avenue and Pier Plaza.
On September 28th and 29th, Hermosa Beach will come alive with Oktoberfest's vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors. The free festival will offer authentic German food, inflatable games for kids, and a variety of Oktoberfest-themed contests and activities—such as wiener dog races, stein hoisting, stein chugging, yodeling, a sausage-eating contest (hands-free!), and a costume contest.
Three lively Beer Gardens will serve national and local craft brews, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, and seltzers, with live music from local musicians and an authentic German band. Advance Beer Garden Admission passes are available at locale90254.com or on-site. A $20/day Admission Pass includes a reusable Hermosa Beach Oktoberfest Stein (or branded cup for those under 21 years old) and access to all three Beer Gardens. Kids 12 and under are free in the Beer Gardens when accompanied by an adult until 3 pm. Commemorative ceramic steins and other Locale 90254 merchandise can be purchased at hermosachamber.square.site
The beer gardens, food, and entertainment will run from 12 pm to 8 pm on both days.
“We’re excited to continue this new tradition with improvements from last year, including more space for the beer gardens and games, shorter lines, and more fun!” said Michelle Crispin, President and CEO of the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce. “Raise your steins and don’t forget to dress up - lederhosen and dirndls are encouraged!”
Oktoberfest originated in 1810 to celebrate the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria and has since become an annual worldwide tradition, celebrating beer, food, and local culture.
Locale 90254 is a fundraiser for the Hermosa Beach Chamber (a 501(c)(6)) and was launched in September 2021 to attract both South Bay residents and visitors to Hermosa Beach.
